The Madison County Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Austin Brown as the next Superintendent of Madison County Schools, effective July 1, 2026.

The Board of Education of Madison County wishes to announce that Mr. Ted Poore will retire as Superintendent of Madison County Schools on June 30, 2026.

Madison County Schools has made an enhancement to its current safety plan that will require attendees to use clear bags inside the venues of all MHSAA-sanctioned events (including tailgating).

Madison County Schools has again achieved an A-rating for 2025, marking the twelfth consecutive A grade for the district! MCS also celebrates earning the highest score in Mississippi among large school districts on state testing.

I am very appreciative of the opportunity that Mr. Poore and Madison County have given me to lead the Academic Options Center. I look forward to serving and working with the staff, students, and parents. I cannot wait to start pouring into these kids and helping them grow and be successful!
